The stock came under selling pressure after the record date for its ₹300 crore share buyback had passed. The company had fixed September 4 as the record date to determine shareholders eligible to participate in the buyback. Under the buyback, the company will repurchase up to 20.69 lakh shares at ₹1,450 per share through the tender-offer route.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd shares fell over 5% on September 7, 2026. The share price was trading at ₹86.98 at 11:11 AM, reflecting a fall of 5.05%.

The shares declined following reports that the CBI had registered an FIR against founder Subhash Chandra for allegedly inflating his net worth to avail loans from LIC Housing Finance Ltd (LICHFL), and later becoming a defaulter.

Subhash Chandra is among the promoters of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. As of June 2026, he was listed among the company’s promoters, according to data available with the BSE.

Manappuram Finance Ltd Falls 4%

At 11:11 AM, Manappuram Finance Ltd share price was trading at ₹352.95, reflecting a fall of 4.05%.

The stock declined even as gold prices continued to remain elevated. The fall in gold-financier stocks was accompanied by strong trading volumes, which could have contributed to the sharp decline in share prices.

Profit booking could also be a factor, particularly as gold prices continue to surge and investors look to lock in gains in gold-linked stocks.
