Indian benchmark indices opened on a mixed note on Monday, September 21, with the Sensex starting higher while the Nifty 50 opened marginally below its previous close. However, both indices later moved into positive territory, with the Nifty 50 gaining over 100 points to trade around the 23,448 level.

Market sentiment was supported by foreign institutional investor (FIIs) buying. FIIs remained net buyers on Friday, September 18, purchasing equities worth ₹628.47 crore. At the same time, a slight pullback in Brent crude oil prices provided additional relief to domestic equities, helping improve overall investor sentiment.

Meanwhile, the much-awaited Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) has been subscribed more than two times on Day 3, so far. 

Top Gainers for September 21: JP Power, Tega Industries and Engineers India Gain Up to 10%

Jaiprakash Power Ventures (JP Power) Gains 10%

JP Power emerged as the top gainer in the Nifty 500 index on September 21, 2026. At 12:29 pm,JP Power share price was trading at ₹16.90, up 10% from its previous close on the NSE.

JP Power has agreed to settle its claim with the National Asset Reconstruction Company Limited (NARCL) for ₹511 crore as a full and final settlement. The settlement is subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions and the execution of definitive agreements. Once all the agreed terms are completed, the ongoing Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC) proceedings are expected to be withdrawn. This settlement is an important step toward resolving the insolvency-related matter that has been pending against the company since February 2026.

Tega Industries Rises Over 9.5%

Tega Industries Ltd share price rose to ₹2,130, gaining 9.5% from its previous close on the NSE.Trading volumes stood at 25.6 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 5.37 lakh shares.

Recently, Tega Industries’ material-handling arm, TMML, secured a ₹126 crore contract from Kalpataru Projects International. The project is expected to be completed within 14 months and covers the entire process, including the design and manufacturing of equipment, along with its installation and commissioning. The order further strengthens Tega Industries’ growing order book and provides a positive boost to its business pipeline.

Engineers India Gains 6.5%

At 12:38 pm, the Engineers India share price was trading at ₹283.8 , reflecting a gain of 6.5% from its previous close on the NSE.

Trading volumes also remained strong at 69.2 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 49.4 lakh

shares.The Stock is currently Trading closer to the 52-Week high of ₹289.65.

Top Losers for September 21: Oracle Financial Services Software, UNO Minda and BSE Fall Up to 7%

Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS) Falls 7%

Oracle Financial Services Software emerged as the top loser in the Nifty 500 index on September 21, 2026.

At 12:47 pm, Oracle Financial Services Software share price was trading at ₹11,083, down 7% from its previous close on the NSE.

According to media reports, $18 billion in loans linked to an Oracle-leased data centre in New Mexico have come under pressure, with the loans being quoted at 89 to 91 cents on the dollar by syndicate banks, including Santander and Jefferies. The development comes amid growing concerns that local opposition to the project, driven by fears over its potential impact on water supply and air quality, could disrupt Oracle’s massive AI infrastructure build-out.

UNO Minda Drops 4.3%

UNO Minda emerged as the top loser in the Nifty 500 index on September 21, 2026.The Stock has fallen by 4.3% and is currently trading at a price of ₹1,230.

Uno Minda rose by over 6.5% in the last trading session, and the stock is seeing a routine correction today. Trading volumes currently stand at 4.8 lakh shares, compared with the 30-day average volume of 6.62 lakh shares.

BSE Limited Falls Over 3.95%

At 1:21 pm, the BSE Limited share price was trading at ₹3,139, down 3.95% from its previous close on the NSE.

BSE Limited has gained more than 42% over the period from April 1st to June 1st , and the stock has subsequently seen some profit booking. At the same time, there have been regulatory developments around the Closing Auction Session (CAS), which was introduced by SEBI in January 2026. SEBI has since reviewed certain aspects of the CAS following concerns around volatility and the functioning of the mechanism.
