The Indian stock market has seen plenty of ups and downs in 2026.
On the other hand, the U.S. market has had a better run. The S&P 500 has gained this year due to strong company results and rising demand for AI infrastructure.

India, meanwhile, has gone through several corrections.

There are a few reasons for this. Tensions between the U.S. and Iran, along with trade restrictions, have pushed crude oil prices higher. This has added to inflation worries and weighed on investor sentiment.

U.S. bond yields have also remained high. This has made bonds more appealing to foreign investors. Some foreign money has therefore moved away from markets such as India.

South Korea has also been on the radar of global investors. The country is a major player in semiconductors and has a growing role in the AI supply chain. This has added to investor interest in the Korean market.

Even with all these challenges, some Indian stocks have continued to perform well. A few have also touched fresh all-time highs this year.

For this list, we have looked at companies with a market capitalisation of more than ₹10,000 crore. The stocks have also delivered more than 15% returns in 2026 as of September 7, 2026.

Here are some stocks that are trading close to their all-time highs.

1. Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd

Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd is one of India's large sugar companies. It has 10 sugar factories in Uttar Pradesh. The company has a combined sugarcane crushing capacity of 80,000 TCD.

The stock has gained more than 60% in 2026 so far.

It touched an all-time high of ₹780.95 on August 20, 2026. On September 7, the stock was trading at around ₹700. This puts the Balrampur Chini Mills share price around 10.37% below its all-time high.

What led to the rally?

Sugar stocks have gained attention after the government announced stricter stockholding rules for bulk sugar consumers ahead of the festival season. The move has raised hopes of better price stability for sugar manufacturers. Domestic sugar prices have also improved.

In addition, Balrampur Chini Mills has started FY27 on a steady note. Revenue has increased in both the Sugar and Distillery businesses. The sugar division has benefited from better realisations. Distillery volumes have also gone up. The company has also seen better sugarcane crushing and production. Higher cane availability has helped support these numbers.

2. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, or BHEL, is one of India's leading power equipment manufacturers. The company is owned and controlled by the Government of India. It makes and supplies equipment used across the power and engineering sectors.
The stock has gained around 45% in 2026 so far.

BHEL touched an all-time high of ₹446.50 on July 17, 2026. As of September 2, the stock was trading at around ₹420. That is only 5.94% below its all-time high.

Reasons for the Rally

BHEL share price saw a sharp improvement in execution during Q1 FY27. Revenue rose to ₹7.7 billion from ₹5.5 billion in Q1 FY26. The company also reported positive EBITDA of ₹5.2 billion. In the same quarter last year, EBITDA was negative at ₹5.2 billion.
BHEL's order book has also grown significantly.

By the end of Q1 FY27, the order book stood at ₹2,603 billion. Large orders from the power sector have played a major role in this increase. Order inflows reached ₹267 billion during the quarter.

Another factor is the expected rise in demand for thermal power. India's power demand has been increasing. There are also concerns about a possible gap between power demand and supply in the coming years.

3. Coforge Ltd

Coforge Ltd is an IT services company. It provides software and technology services to clients across different industries.
The stock has gained around 16% in 2026 so far. Coforge touched a high of ₹2,016.50 on August 28, 2026. As of September 7, the stock was trading at around ₹1,930.

This is about 4.29% below its all-time high.

What has led to the rally?

Coforge share price reported healthy growth in the June quarter. Its U.S. dollar revenue rose 21.1% to $592.2 million. In the March quarter, revenue stood at $489.1 million. Revenue in rupee terms increased 24.2% from the previous quarter to ₹5,527.7 crore. The company's margin stood at 16%.

Coforge also has a 12-month executable book of $2.228 billion. This gives the company a sizeable amount of business that can be converted into revenue over the coming year.

AI has also become an important part of Coforge's business. The company has been using AI in client projects as well as its own operations. It has also launched Coforge Nuuron, an enterprise AI operating system. The company says its use of AI has helped improve productivity and operating efficiency.

With revenue growth, a healthy executable order book and increasing use of AI, Coforge has remained one of the better-performing IT stocks in 2026.
