Nippon Life India Asset Management has fixed 28 October 2026 as the record date for an interim dividend of ₹9.50 per equity share, placing the corporate action in focus alongside the asset manager's September-quarter financial results.
The company's board approved the dividend at its meeting on 22 October. The payout is scheduled to be made on and from 5 November 2026, according to the company's exchange filing.
The dividend accompanies a quarter in which the asset manager recorded growth in revenue and assets, while reported profit was affected by an exceptional expense.
Nippon Life India Asset Management posted consolidated profit after tax of approximately ₹324.4 crore for Q2 FY27, down about 6% year on year. Revenue from operations increased 21% to approximately ₹796 crore, compared with ₹658.1 crore in the corresponding quarter a year earlier.
Operating profit for the quarter stood at approximately ₹523 crore, representing year-on-year growth of 25%, according to the company's financial release.
The company's closing assets under management rose 14% year on year to ₹8.68 lakh crore as of September 2026. Nippon India Mutual Fund's quarterly average assets under management increased 20% to ₹7.87 lakh crore, with its market share rising to 9.02%.
The September-quarter profit included an exceptional item of ₹96.76 crore relating to settlement proceedings associated with certain historical investments by Nippon India Mutual Fund schemes in Yes Bank Additional Tier-1 bonds.
The company said the amount comprised ₹89.08 crore, including interest, relating to reversal of management fees earned on the investments, and ₹7.68 crore towards settlement amounts for the company and certain officials. As of the company's 22 October disclosure, the final settlement order from SEBI was still awaited.
The dividend is the company's first interim dividend for FY27. It follows a final dividend of ₹12.50 per share announced earlier in 2026 and an interim dividend of ₹9 per share announced in October 2025.
For the mutual fund industry, the quarterly numbers provide a separate view of the operating scale of one of India's largest asset managers. Growth in Nippon India Mutual Fund's quarterly average assets, along with the increase in the parent company's closing AUM, came despite the exceptional expense reducing reported profit during the quarter.
The dividend itself is a corporate action by the listed asset-management company and is separate from distributions, returns or NAV movements in schemes managed by Nippon India Mutual Fund.
