Fuel Prices Remain Unchanged On March 20; Petrol At ₹94.77, Diesel At ₹87.67 In Delhi

Fuel prices across India remained steady on March 20, with petrol in Delhi priced at ₹94.77 per litre and diesel at ₹87.67 per litre, as per data from oil marketing companies (OMCs). Prices of key fuels have not been revised since early March despite fluctuations in global crude oil markets.

Key Fuel Rates In Delhi

In Delhi, compressed natural gas (CNG) is priced at ₹77.09 per kg, while a domestic LPG cylinder (14.2 kg) costs ₹913. A commercial LPG cylinder (19 kg) is priced at ₹1,884.50, according to official data.

Prices Vary Across Major Cities

The prices of fuel vary from city to city. Petrol costs ₹103.54 per litre in Mumbai, ₹105.41 in Kolkata, and ₹101.06 in Chennai. Similarly, diesel costs ₹90.03 per litre in Mumbai, ₹92.02 in Kolkata, and ₹92.48 in Chennai.

Other major cities' petrol prices are ₹102.96 in Bengaluru and ₹107.50 in Hyderabad. Correspondingly, diesel costs ₹90.99 and ₹95.70 per litre in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. LPG prices vary from ₹965 in Hyderabad to ₹1,002.50 in Patna.

Global Crude Oil Prices Remain Elevated

International crude oil prices have been ruling firm at over $108 a barrel due to geopolitical issues in West Asia, as reported by Reuters. The hike in global oil prices, however, is yet to reflect on local fuel prices.

India imports more than 80% of its crude oil requirements, as reported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

LPG Prices Revised Earlier This Month

There has been a hike of ₹60 in domestic LPG cylinders on March 7. This is the first major revision in LPG prices after mid-2025. The hike will reflect on household fuels, but beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will continue to receive a subsidy of ₹300 on every cylinder, as reported by government data.

CNG Prices Stable In 2026

CNG prices have been steady at Rs 77.09 per kg in Delhi since 2026. Earlier in January, the price had been raised marginally. 

Fuel prices have been steady across the country's main cities despite the high price of crude oil globally. OMCs have kept the retail price steady while the global energy market is fluctuating.
