Indian companies have raised around ₹52,300 crore through main board IPOs, SME IPOs, and qualified institutional placements in July. According to Prime Database, 36 companies tapped the capital markets during the month, indicating sustained issuer activity despite market volatility and global uncertainties.
The latest fundraising tally is the strongest since November 2024, when 24 companies collectively mobilised about ₹56,737 crore through IPOs, SME issues and QIPs. The strong issuance came even as domestic equities witnessed fluctuations driven by geopolitical developments and foreign portfolio investor outflows.
Mainboard IPOs Account For The Largest Share
According to Prime Database, mainboard IPOs contributed the biggest portion of the month’s fundraising. Twelve companies together raised approximately ₹28,650 crore during July, making it the busiest month for mainboard public offerings since November 2024.
The largest issue came from SBI Funds Management, which raised ₹9,796 crore. Manipal Health Enterprises followed with ₹9,276 crore, while Indo-MIM mobilised ₹3,810 crore. Juniper Green Energy collected ₹1,800 crore and Lohia Corp Ltd raised ₹1,102 crore. Other companies that entered the primary market during the month included Laser Power & Infra, Kusumgar, Caliber Mining & Logistics and Knack Packaging.
QIPs Witness Strong Monthly Activity
Qualified institutional placements also recorded strong participation. Prime Database data showed that six listed companies collectively raised nearly ₹19,300 crore through QIPs during July.
Adani Enterprises accounted for the largest fundraising with an issue of around ₹15,000 crore. Adani Energy Solutions followed with ₹3,500 crore, while Belrise Industries, Ather Energy, Blue Jet Healthcare and ideaForge Technology also raised capital through institutional placements.
The SME segment remained active as well. Seventeen companies raised a combined ₹892 crore in July, compared with ₹941 crore mobilised by 24 SME companies in June.
Equity Markets Stay Resilient Despite Headwinds
The fundraising surge came during a period of heightened geopolitical tensions between the U.S. and Iran, which briefly pushed the global crude price above $100 per barrel. The rise in oil prices renewed concerns over inflation and India’s macroeconomic outlook, while foreign portfolio investors resumed selling after a brief buying phase in June.
Despite all these advancements, however, domestic stock indexes proved to be strong. During July, the Sensex and Nifty each gained 0.5%, while the BSE MidCap index advanced 1.2%. The BSE SmallCap index, however, slipped 0.2%.
Fundraising Pipeline Remains Active
Prime Database data shows that companies have collectively raised about ₹1.06 lakh crore through mainboard IPOs, SME IPOs and QIPs so far in 2026. During the whole of 2025, 406 companies had mobilised approximately ₹2.6 lakh crore through the same fundraising routes.
The latest figures indicate that companies continue to access the primary market despite periodic volatility in equities. Activity in the coming months will depend on market conditions, investor participation, geopolitical developments and the performance of newly listed companies, all of which influence the pace of future capital raising.
