LPG cylinder prices remained constant across major cities in India on April 9, 2026, despite the geopolitical situation in West Asia. This was revealed by data provided by oil marketing firms.

The data is the result of a review conducted by an IGoM meeting headed by the country's defence minister, Rajnath Singh, assessing India’s readiness for any eventuality, considering the ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. Despite ongoing volatility in global crude oil prices, domestic LPG rates have remained stable so far.

LPG Prices In Major Cities

City Domestic (14.2 kg) Commercial (19 kg)
New Delhi ₹913.00 ₹2,078.50
Mumbai ₹912.50 ₹2,031.00
Kolkata ₹939.00 ₹2,208.50
Chennai ₹928.50 ₹2,246.50
Hyderabad ₹965.00 ₹2,320.50
Bengaluru ₹915.50 ₹2,161.00
Gurgaon ₹921.50 ₹2,096.50
Noida ₹910.50 ₹2,078.50
Lucknow ₹950.50 ₹2,201.00
Patna ₹1,002.50 ₹2,353.50

According to official data, domestic LPG prices have not been revised since the ₹60 increase in March 2026. Commercial LPG cylinder prices were last raised on April 1, following earlier hikes in March.

Supply And Availability Update

The government stated that LPG supply across the country remains stable, with no reports of shortages at distributorships. According to the official statement, delivery of domestic LPG cylinders continues without disruption.

Data shared during the review indicated that eight LPG vessels carrying around 340 thousand metric tonnes (TM) successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz over the past 40 days, equivalent to nearly 11 days of India’s import requirement.

The government also increased the supply of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders beyond the earlier 20% allocation for priority segments on April 7, according to the official update.

Policy And Distribution Measures

It has been officially reported that there is no change in the rule regarding booking periods, which will still be 25 days for urban areas and 45 days for rural areas. The Delivery Authentication Code system is mandatory for delivering cylinders.

Customers have been instructed to book their LPG using digital systems like IVRS, SMS, and online booking portals.

The prices of LPG differ from one city to another depending on the variation in VAT rates and transportation charges, but LPG supply is normal without any price variation to date, i.e., 9th April 2013.
