MCX to Revise Trading Hours from November 3, 2025: Check The Timings Here
India’s leading commodity derivatives exchange, MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange of India), has announced a revision of its trading hours from Monday, November 3, 2025, to Friday, March 6, 2026 (both days inclusive), in response to changes in the U.S. daylight‐saving schedule.
What’s Changing
- For non-agricultural commodities, trading will start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 11:55 p.m. IST.
- For select agricultural commodities (cotton, cotton seed wash oil & kapas): trading will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. IST.
- For all other agricultural commodities: the session will run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. IST.
All intraday positions on MCX will be squared‐off 10 minutes before the respective market close.
Why This Change
The timing shift is being implemented because of the change in U.S. daylight saving time (DST) which affects global commodity markets and the international linkages that MCX has for many contracts.
By aligning trading hours with global time zones, MCX aims to maintain efficient connectivity with international markets and contemporaneous trading for commodities whose pricing and liquidity are influenced internationally.
