Mid-cap & Small-Cap Index Show 10% or More Correction; Nifty 50 Remains Resilient With Marginal Growth

The Mid-Cap and Small-Cap index stocks have fallen by 10% and more since the correction that started in 2026. The Nifty 50 mostly remained green with only a few Large-Caps showing a decline, despite the volatile share market and global economy.
As per the reports, a total of 50 stocks showed a negative performance in the current trading sessions. Out of these 32 stocks have dropped by more than 10% on the benchmark index Nifty 50 since the beginning of 2026. The remaining 28 have shown a correction of 1-10%.
Four shares on the Nifty 50 index have performed the worst with a decline of more than 10%. These stocks include ITC, which fell by 20%, Reliance Industries Ltd, which showed a decline of 11%, Trent decreased by 10.4%, and Jio Financial Services, which plunged by more or less 10%.
On the other hand, the performance of 14 stocks on the Nifty 50 index remained marginally good despite the ongoing geopolitical issues. As per the reports, the two stocks that are performing the best are the State Bank of India and Tech Mahindra. Their shares have increased by 5%. While the remaining shares have pushed between the rates of 1-5%.
Mid-Cap Stocks Performance
The correction, beginning from 2026, has affected the Mid-Cap index stocks big time. As per the reports, 119 of the 143 stocks fell by a rate of more than or equal to 10%. Out of these, 34 stocks have fallen by more than 10%, and 85 stocks have declined between the rates of 1-10%.
On the other hand, 24 participating stocks in the Mid-Cap index have risen by a significant amount. 20 stocks rose by rates between 1-5%. However, four stocks in the Mid Cap have risen above 10%
Small-Cap Stocks Performance
The correction has impacted the small-cap index stocks the most. As per the reports, 1,108 stocks out of the 1,213 stocks in the BSE SmallCap index have recorded negative performance. More than 49% of the participating stocks have fallen by more than 10%- the total number of stocks in this group is 599. While 509 stocks of the small-cap index declined by 1-10%.
On the other hand, 105 stocks remained within the green target, recording a marginal rise between 1-33%.
