Broad-Based Buying In Midcap IT

Gains were also visible across midcap IT companies. Oracle Financial Services Software rose about 4.5%, while Persistent Systems and Coforge gained over 4% each.

Other stocks such as Mphasis and LTIMindtree moved higher in the range of 3%–3.5%, indicating participation across segments in the IT space.

Recovery After Previous Session Decline

The gains follow a decline in IT stocks in the previous trading session. The rebound on March 18 reflects a recovery in prices across both large-cap and mid-cap IT stocks after the earlier fall.

Market Environment

The broader market has also been trading in the green during the session, though the rise in the banking stocks has been limited. India VIX has fallen by almost 5 %, which reflects the lower volatility during the day.

The cues were positive from the global market, as the U.S. markets closed with a gain in the previous session. The IT stocks continued their rise during the session, with the IT sector emerging as the top gainer among all the indices on March 18.
