Crude Oil Prices Remain In Focus
Global crude oil prices have remained volatile since tensions escalated in West Asia earlier this year. Brent crude had previously climbed close to $126 per barrel on April 30 before easing below $98 earlier this week.
According to PTI, government sources said fuel price revisions may be considered if global crude oil prices remain elevated for a prolonged period. Petrol and diesel retail prices in India have largely remained unchanged over the last four years despite fluctuations in international energy markets.
The government has continued to maintain stable domestic fuel prices even as global crude benchmarks remain above pre-conflict levels. Commercial LPG cylinder prices have seen revisions in recent months, while petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG prices have remained unchanged.
Oil prices are expected to stay in focus as global markets continue to watch developments on the U.S.-Iran situation and concerns over crude supply.
