Petrol And Diesel Prices Unchanged On March 17 Amid Global Oil Volatility

Prices of Fuel in Big Cities

As of March 17, petrol costs ₹94.77 per litre in New Delhi and diesel costs ₹87.67 per litre. Prices in the national capital have remained unchanged compared to the previous day and have also stayed stable over the past month.

Across other metro cities, petrol prices also showed no change. In Mumbai, petrol is priced at ₹103.54 per litre. In Chennai, the rate stands at ₹100.80 per litre, while in Kolkata, petrol is priced at ₹105.45 per litre. All four metro cities recorded 0% change in prices on the day.

Diesel prices across states also remained largely stable. Data shows diesel in states such as Andhra Pradesh at ₹97.33 per litre, Karnataka at ₹91.50 per litre, Maharashtra at ₹91.33 per litre, and Tamil Nadu at ₹93.42 per litre.

Prices of LPG in Big Cities

According to the most recent data, the prices of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders for a 14.2 kg cylinder have gone up by 60 in all cities.

LPG costs ₹913.00 per cylinder in New Delhi and ₹912.50 in Mumbai. The price is ₹939.00 in Kolkata and ₹928.50 in Chennai.

Other cities, like Gurgaon (₹921.50), Noida (₹910.50), and Bengaluru (₹915.50), have also reported new prices for LPG.

The Global Oil Market

Brent crude oil prices are close to $120 per barrel, which is high for crude oil prices around the world. This is because of political tensions in West Asia. These developments have kept international oil markets volatile.

Despite the rise in global prices, domestic retail fuel prices have not been revised on March 17, according to the latest available data.

India reviews changes to fuel prices every day based on international benchmarks and currency values. However, there are no changes to the prices of petrol and diesel today.

The data shows that fuel prices in the country have stayed stable, which means that retail fuel prices in the country's major cities have also stayed stable, even though there is a global energy crisis.
