Petrol, Diesel And CNG Prices Remain Unchanged; Check City-Wise Fuel Rates For July 22

Petrol, diesel and CNG prices were unchanged across the country on Wednesday, July 22, as oil marketing companies (OMCs) and city gas distributors retained existing retail rates. Fuel prices are reviewed daily at 6 am, although revisions are made only when required.

The latest crude price trend continues to remain in focus after the recent increase in retail fuel rates. OMCs had earlier raised petrol and diesel prices by around ₹7.5 per litre amid higher global crude price levels driven by geopolitical tensions in West Asia.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Across Major Cities

Hyderabad Records Highest Petrol Price

Among the cities listed, Hyderabad continued to report the highest petrol price at ₹115.69 per litre, followed by Thiruvananthapuram at ₹115.49 per litre. Chandigarh remained the least expensive market for petrol at ₹98.10 per litre. Lucknow and New Delhi also recorded comparatively lower petrol price levels at ₹102.05 and ₹102.12 per litre, respectively.

For diesel, Thiruvananthapuram registered the highest diesel price at ₹104.40 per litre, while Hyderabad followed at ₹103.82 per litre. Chandigarh had the lowest diesel price among the listed cities at ₹86.09 per litre.

Export Duty and LPG Rates

As notified by the government, the export duty on diesel was increased to ₹14 per litre from ₹13.5 per litre for the fortnight beginning June 16. The export levy on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was raised to ₹12.5 per litre from ₹9.5 per litre, while the excise duty on petrol exports remained unchanged at ₹1.5 per litre.

Separately, domestic LPG cylinder prices were increased by ₹29 from June 7. Following the revision, a standard 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder in Delhi costs ₹942, compared with ₹913 earlier. Commercial LPG prices were also revised from June 1, with a 19-kg cylinder in Delhi priced at ₹3,113.50 after a ₹42 increase.

CNG Prices Stay Stable

CNG prices also remained unchanged on July 22. Mumbai had earlier seen a ₹2 per kg increase, taking the retail price to ₹86 per kg. Domestic PNG prices were also revised earlier, with rates increasing by 50 paise to ₹52 per standard cubic metre. Market participants are expected to continue tracking movements in the global crude price, as they remain an important factor influencing future fuel price revisions in India.
