Petrol Diesel Price Today August 19: Check Fuel Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad And Other Cities

Petrol And Diesel Rates On August 19

Retail fuel prices differ across cities because of variations in state taxes and other charges. The rates listed for August 19 are:

Hyderabad has the highest petrol price in the table at ₹115.73 per litre, followed by Kolkata at ₹113.51 and Bengaluru at ₹110.93. At the other end, New Delhi’s petrol price stands at ₹102.12 per litre.

Diesel Prices Remain Steady

Diesel prices also remained unchanged across all six cities. Hyderabad has the highest diesel rate at ₹103.82 per litre, while Mumbai has the lowest at ₹90.03 per litre.

Diesel costs ₹99.55 per litre in Chennai and ₹98.80 in Bengaluru. Kolkata’s rate is ₹99.82, while diesel is priced at ₹95.20 per litre in New Delhi.

The petrol price in Mumbai is ₹103.54 per litre. Compared with New Delhi, the difference is ₹1.42 per litre. The city-wise variation reflects differences in taxes on petrol and diesel and other components that form the final retail price.

How Petrol And Diesel Prices Are Revised

Oil marketing companies generally review retail fuel rates every day, with revised prices taking effect from 6 a.m. The amount paid by consumers can vary from one location to another because state-level taxes and other applicable charges are different.

The unchanged rates on August 19 mean motorists in the six cities listed above continue to pay the same retail prices as the previous day. Consumers may check the applicable local rate before refuelling, particularly when travelling between cities.

India Targets Faster PNG Adoption

The government is also looking to increase the use of piped natural gas (PNG) among households. Anil Kumar Jain, chairman of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board, said India is targeting a three-fold increase in new household PNG users to 4 million during the current fiscal year.

The focus is on bringing more households into actual PNG consumption rather than only expanding the distribution network. The push comes as the West Asia war has put pressure on India’s reliance on imported cooking gas.

The PNG expansion adds another element to India’s broader fuel and energy landscape, alongside the daily movement of petrol and diesel rates. For motorists, however, the August 19 city-wise petrol price and diesel price remain unchanged across the six major markets covered here.
