Q1 Earnings: Eicher Motors, Waaree, Redington Post Strong Growth; Hexaware, Chalet Report Profit Decline

Many listed companies came out with their June quarter performance on July 30, which saw a mix of earnings for various sectors. Although automobile firms, renewable energy, financial and tech companies showed good earnings, some companies saw reduced earnings even as revenue improved. It seems that the latest quarter results would continue to be watched once trade resumes.
Eicher Motors, Waaree And Bajaj Housing Finance Deliver Higher Profit
Eicher Motors reported a consolidated net profit of ₹1,462.5 crore for the first quarter, up 21.3% from ₹1,205.2 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 31.5% year-on-year to ₹6,632.4 crore.
Waaree Energies also reported a strong quarter. Consolidated profit rose 14.1% to ₹850.2 crore, while revenue climbed 79.2% to ₹7,931.8 crore.
Bajaj Housing Finance posted a 22.6% rise in quarterly profit to ₹715.3 crore. Revenue for the quarter grew 17.2% to ₹3,063 crore.
Among other notable performers, Redington reported a 76.5% jump in profit to ₹486 crore as revenue increased 34.6% to ₹34,922.5 crore. ACME Solar Holdings posted an 80% rise in profit to ₹235.3 crore, while TBO Tek reported a 32.4% increase in profit alongside an 81.1% growth in revenue.
FMCG, Mining And Engineering Companies Report Mixed Results
Dabur India reported consolidated profit of ₹586.2 crore, up 15.3% year-on-year, while revenue rose 10.6% to ₹3,764.4 crore. The company said its India FMCG business recorded 9.5% growth with underlying volume growth of 5%.
MOIL reported a 70.1% increase in quarterly profit to ₹87.6 crore, supported by revenue growth of 6.6%.
MTAR Technologies delivered one of the sharpest earnings improvements during the quarter. Consolidated profit rose nearly five-fold to ₹50.2 crore, while revenue more than doubled to ₹360.7 crore.
Some Companies Report Lower Profit Despite Revenue Growth
Hexaware Technologies posted consolidated profit of ₹330.2 crore, down 13% from a year ago, even as revenue increased 17.9% to ₹3,845.2 crore. The company also reported negative other income of ₹50.1 crore against positive other income of ₹1.3 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
Prestige Estates Projects reported a 19.4% decline in profit despite a 15.9% increase in revenue. Chalet Hotels also posted weaker numbers, with profit falling 57.6% and revenue declining 42.7%.
Among Vedanta’s businesses, Vedanta Oil and Gas reported a profit of ₹945 crore compared with a loss of ₹103 crore a year ago. Vedanta Iron and Steel also returned to profit, while Vedanta Power reported a quarterly loss of ₹423 crore against a profit in the year-ago period.
TeamLease Services, Quess Corp and Piramal Pharma also announced their June quarter results. TeamLease and Quess reported growth in both revenue and profit, while Piramal Pharma narrowed its quarterly loss as revenue increased 17.4%. The most recent earnings have emphasized diverse business environments across sectors, where company-specific performance has continued to dominate investor focus amidst the current earnings season.
