On January 23, over 50 companies will report their financial results for the October-December quarter as the earnings season heats up. Notable companies such as Adani Green Energy, BPCL, Cipla, JSW Steel, Shriram Finance, IndusInd Bank, Godrej Consumer Products, and Urban Company are also highlighted. 

BPCL will be holding a board meeting on January 23 to discuss approving its unaudited results, in addition to potentially declaring a second interim dividend. The financial markets will be tracking how all sectors, including energy and finance, have performed.

Recent earnings reports have provided some guidance as to what expectations should be.

Major Announcements Today

Several of the larger companies include Adani Green Energy, DCB Bank, Granules India, India Cements, JSW Energy, Laurus Labs, Multi Commodity Exchange, Nuvama Wealth Management, Piramal Finance, Sona BLW Precision Forgings, Sterlite Technologies, and Welspun Speciality Solutions.

There are many smaller companies listed below, such as Advani Hotels, Atul, BEML Land Assets, Capfin India and Paras Defence, as well as many others in the various industries.

As investors continue to evaluate margins and growth, they will also have to account for the impact of the new Labour Code.

Recent Results Highlights

The profit of IndiGo decreased by 78% to ₹549.1 crore because of disruptions to flights and on account of new labour laws that cost ₹1,546.5 crore. Revenue increased to ₹23,471.9 crore or an increase of 6.2%. Cash balance increased to ₹51,606.9 crore.

Bandhan Bank's net profit decreased by 51.7% to ₹205.6 crore. The gross NPA improved to 3.33%.

Premier Energies' profit increased to ₹391.7 crore, an increase of 53.5%, and Syngene's profit decreased by 88.6% to ₹15 crore with an exceptional loss of ₹70.6 crore.

DLF’s consolidated profit increased by 14% to ₹1,203 crore, and revenue increased by 32.2% to ₹2,020 crore.

Cyient’s profit decreased by 25% to ₹91.8 crore on labour code provisions; Mphasis profits increased to ₹442.2 crore, an increase of 3.4% and TCV new wins of USD 428 million.

Adjusted PAT of Adani Energy Solutions increased by 30%, and EBITDA hit a record of ₹2,210 crore.

Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s profit increased to ₹186 crore, an increase of 71%.
