Shipping and logistics stocks have gone up on April 1, driven by fresh signs of easing tensions in West Asia. Stocks in this sector have seen an uptick due to easing tensions in West Asia.

Shipping Corporation of India was up by as much as 6.5%, while Great Eastern Shipping Company was up by as much as 3.5%. Delhivery was up by more than 5%. Blue Dart Express gained 3.82%, while Allcargo Logistics advanced up to 7.8%. Shreeji Shipping Global and Seamec recorded gains of 4.37% and 3.06%, respectively.

Signals Of De-Escalation Lift Sector

The move in these stocks followed statements from Iranian officials indicating a willingness to reduce tensions. According to Reuters, the Iranian President signalled openness to ending hostilities, while the country’s foreign minister confirmed that communication channels with the U.S. remain active.

Separately, U.S. President Donald Trump said that military operations could be halted within two to three weeks, suggesting that the conflict may not continue for an extended period.

Focus On Key Trade Route

The Strait of Hormuz continues to be an important passage in the global oil transport chain, with about 20% of the world’s oil and LNG trade moving through the route, according to industry statistics. Any relaxation in the tensions in the region would be beneficial in avoiding disruptions in the movement of oil tankers.

Crude oil prices also softened, with Brent falling below $99 per barrel, which helped ease cost pressures linked to fuel and operations.

Shipbuilding Stocks Extend Gains

The positive sentiment was visible in shipbuilding companies as well. Shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers jumped over 16% to ₹2,289.60 after reporting annual turnover of ₹6,400 crore for FY26, compared to ₹5,076 crore in the previous year, according to company filings.

Other players in the segment moved higher, with Cochin Shipyard gaining 12.3% and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders rising 10.2%.

Broad-Based Buying Across Segments

The gains in the shipping, logistics, and shipbuilding stocks came as the sentiment on global supply chains improved. With oil prices falling and geopolitical tensions appearing to ease, the sector witnessed broad-based participation during the session.
