Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) on June 12 announced a global partnership with artificial intelligence company Anthropic to accelerate the deployment of AI solutions for enterprise customers across industries.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will create a dedicated business unit focused on building AI-led solutions using Anthropic’s Claude family of large language models. The initiative will also give TCS early access to Anthropic’s technology to develop industry-specific applications and strengthen its AI capabilities.
In a regulatory filing, TCS said it will provide enterprise-wide access to Claude for 50,000 employees working across engineering, finance, legal, marketing and sales functions. The move is aimed at expanding AI adoption within the organisation and supporting the development of new client-focused solutions.
Focus On Industry-Specific AI Solutions
The partnership will involve joint development and deployment of AI-powered services across sectors, including banking and financial services, healthcare sector, life sciences, telecommunications, aviation, public services and medical technology.
According to the company, the collaboration will combine Anthropic’s AI models with TCS’ consulting, engineering and managed services expertise to create solutions focused on workflow automation, application modernisation and customer experience enhancement.
The companies also plan to work together on AI deployments in highly regulated industries where compliance, governance and operational reliability remain key considerations.
Expansion Of AI Capabilities
TCS said the dedicated business unit will serve as a centre for AI innovation, enabling teams to build domain-focused use cases and accelerate enterprise adoption of generative AI technologies.
The initiative forms part of the company’s broader efforts to integrate artificial intelligence into business operations and client services. By extending access to Claude across multiple functions, TCS aims to strengthen internal AI capabilities while supporting large-scale implementation projects for customers.
Leadership Commentary
Anthropic Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Dario Amodei said the agreement reinforces the company’s focus on India, which has emerged as its second-largest market globally.
TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K Krithivasan said the partnership is intended to help enterprises move AI projects from experimentation to production environments more efficiently, particularly in sectors that require strong governance, reliability and regulatory compliance.
The announcement adds to the growing number of partnerships between global technology service providers and AI firms as enterprises increasingly invest in generative AI tools to improve productivity, automate business processes and support digital transformation initiatives.
