With a healthy rise in domestic stock markets on Friday, 47 stocks on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) made it to their 52-week high mark, with companies belonging to sectors such as pharma, logistics, banking, and industrials among the biggest gainers.

As per data available on the exchange website, the Nifty 50 index was trading 0.82% higher at 23,351.75, while the BSE Sensex rose 1.02% to 74,582.61. The rally coincided with positive global cues, easing geopolitical concerns and a decline in crude oil prices.

Among the notable stocks that touched fresh one-year highs were Apar Industries, Aegis Logistics, Akums Drugs and Pharmaceuticals, Cupid, Federal Bank and JB Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals.

Global Cues Lift Investor Sentiment

Market sentiment improved after indications of progress in diplomatic discussions between the U.S. and Iran. Reports suggested that planned military action had been withdrawn following developments in negotiations, reducing concerns over a prolonged conflict in West Asia.

The easing of geopolitical tensions also weighed on crude oil prices. Brent crude traded near $88.48 per barrel during the session, down more than 2% from the previous close and nearly 5% lower compared with a week earlier. Lower oil prices are generally viewed as supportive for India, which relies heavily on crude imports.

The Indian rupee also strengthened against the U.S. dollar. The domestic currency traded near 95.22 during the session, improving from its previous close of 95.76. A firmer rupee and lower commodity prices contributed to the positive tone across equity markets.

In the global debt market, the yield on the benchmark U.S. 10-year Treasury note eased to around 4.47% from approximately 4.57% earlier. Lower bond yields often improve the appeal of equities by reducing pressure on risk assets.

Technology Stocks Add Support

Global technology shares remained in focus after recent gains in U.S. markets. Investor interest in the technology segment continued amid anticipation surrounding major developments in the sector, helping support risk appetite across Asian markets.

Major regional indices, including Japan’s Nikkei, South Korea’s Kospi and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, traded higher during the day, reflecting broader strength across global equities.
