Gift Nifty Sets The Early Market Tone

Gift Nifty remained the key indicator for Tuesday’s opening trade, reflecting optimism ahead of the start of the earnings season. Investors are also monitoring quarterly business updates from major companies, which are expected to influence stock-specific activity in the coming sessions.

Asian markets traded mixed during early hours, while U.S. equities ended higher overnight, led by gains in technology stocks. Market participants are also awaiting the release of the U.S. Federal Reserve’s June meeting minutes for further direction on interest rate expectations.

Samsung Earnings, Bond Yields And Dollar In Focus

Global sentiment also remained influenced by Samsung Electronics’ quarterly earnings announcement, with investors assessing demand trends in the technology sector ahead of results from other major companies.

In the bond market, the yield on the benchmark 10-year U.S. Treasury note remained in focus as investors looked for fresh signals on monetary policy. Currency markets were relatively stable, with the dollar index holding near 100.86.

The euro edged up to $1.1442, while the British pound climbed to $1.34005, its strongest level in more than two weeks. The Japanese yen continued to trade on the weaker side of 162 against the U.S. dollar.

Gold Rate And Crude Oil Price Move Differently

The gold price eased ahead of the release of the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting minutes. Spot gold price declined 0.4% to $4,148.59 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures for August delivery slipped 0.2% to $4,160.20. Spot silver prices also fell 0.8% to $61.57 per ounce.

The crude oil price moved higher, although gains remained limited. Brent crude oil price rose 0.39% to $72.29 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude oil price gained 0.26% to $68.84 per barrel.

With Gift Nifty hinting at a positive opening and global markets offering mixed cues, investors are likely to watch for cues from earnings reports, movement of commodity prices and international economic developments during the trading session.
