The Sensex Index fell 161 points or 0.21% to close at 75,237.99 from the previous close. The Nifty 50 index shed 46 points or 0.19% to close at 23,643.50. Market sentiment remained subdued amid rising crude oil prices and concerns linked to geopolitical tensions in West Asia. Gift Nifty futures were trading nearly 186 points below the previous Nifty futures close, indicating a weak opening for domestic equities.
Earnings-Focused Stocks
Indian Oil Corporation, Ola Electric and JSW Cement are scheduled to announce their Q4FY26 earnings on Monday. Vodafone Idea reported a net profit of ₹51,970 crore for the March quarter against a loss of ₹5,286 crore in the previous quarter. The company said the profit was supported by an exceptional gain.
Hindustan Copper posted a consolidated net profit of ₹444 crore for Q4FY26, up 134% from ₹189 crore in the year-ago period.
Tata Steel reported a consolidated net profit of ₹2,965 crore for the quarter ended March 2026, compared with ₹1,201 crore a year earlier, registering a 147% increase.
Steel Authority of India Ltd recorded a consolidated net profit of ₹1,836 crore in Q4FY26, up 46.7% from ₹1,251 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Power Grid Corporation of India posted a 9.7% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit at ₹4,546.3 crore for the March quarter.
Stocks Linked To Corporate Developments
Power Finance Corporation said its board approved seeking consent from the President of India for the proposed merger with REC Ltd. Premier Energies reported a 64.4% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹456.8 crore for Q4FY26, supported by higher revenue growth.
Delhivery posted a marginal decline in quarterly net profit to ₹72.4 crore from ₹72.6 crore in the corresponding period last year. Cochin Shipyard reported lower revenue and net profit for the March quarter on a year-on-year basis, although operating margins improved during the period.
NCC Ltd posted an 18.8% decline in consolidated net profit to ₹206 crore for Q4FY26, compared with ₹253.8 crore in the same quarter last year.
Bajaj Electricals reported a consolidated net loss of ₹67.5 crore for the March quarter, against a profit of ₹59.1 crore a year earlier.
