Petrol, Diesel Price Stable On June 10; Check Latest Rates In Major Cities

The rate for petrol and diesel stayed stable in the country on June 10, as fuel prices across major cities stayed steady. While the price of petrol remained at ₹102.12 per litre in the national capital, that of diesel was ₹95.20 per litre.

The price for fuel has been relatively high due to the volatility in the international market of crude oil. Ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have been causing much attention to global energy supplies. India continues to monitor the situation while implementing measures aimed at maintaining fuel availability and managing consumption.

Fuel Prices Across Major Cities

Measures To Strengthen Fuel Supply

According to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, multiple measures have been undertaken to ensure adequate fuel availability. These include higher refinery output, longer booking intervals for LPG cylinder refills and prioritisation of supply to essential sectors.

The ministry said Delivery Authentication Code (DAC)-based deliveries now account for nearly 96% of total deliveries. The mechanism is intended to reduce diversion of subsidised fuel at the distributor level by verifying transactions through registered mobile numbers.

Authorities have also encouraged consumers to adopt alternative energy sources such as piped natural gas (PNG), electric cooking appliances and induction-based systems where available.

Expansion Of PNG Network

Government data showed that around 9.16 lakh PNG connections have been activated since March 2026. Infrastructure has been set up for around 3.05 lakhs of connections, bringing the number of connections to 12.21 lakhs.

The data indicated that around 9.24 lakhs of customers applied for new PNG connections. According to the data provided by June 7, around 82,000 of PNG users have surrendered their LPG connections using the MYPNGD portal.

As far as the international market is concerned, geopolitical issues continue to make the market sensitive. In view of the above, the fuel price in India continues to be watched. For the time being, the price of petrol and diesel has not changed in major Indian cities.
