Stocks To Watch Today: BSE, Jio Financial, NTPC, Coal India, RailTel In Focus

The Indian stock markets are expected to begin trading lower on March 30, 2026, with GIFT Nifty futures suggesting a 303-point opening gap of 22,513 points at 06:50 AM, following weak global markets.
Markets across Asia-Pacific recorded sharp losses, with South Korea’s Kospi falling over 5%, Japan’s Nikkei 225 declining 4.49%, and Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 dropping 1.46%. U.S. markets also ended lower in the previous session, with the S&P 500 down 1.67%, Nasdaq falling 2.15%, and Dow Jones declining 1.73%.
BSE, Jio Financial Among Key Stocks
BSE will be in focus after the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal dismissed its appeals challenging the National Company Law Tribunal’s authority to defreeze demat accounts of companies undergoing insolvency proceedings.
Jio Financial Services is expected to remain in focus as the company plans to start its general and life insurance businesses this year, according to PTI. The company has indicated it does not intend to enter unsecured or consumer durable lending in the near term.
NTPC, Coal India Announce Investments
NTPC has approved an investment of ₹5,821.90 crore for setting up Battery Energy Storage Systems with a capacity of 4.70 GWh. The board also cleared an equity infusion of ₹3,173.67 crore into Meja Urja Nigam, raising its total commitment to ₹5,000 crore for the Meja Super Thermal Power Project Stage-II.
Coal India has incorporated a joint venture, DVC CIL Power Private Limited, with Damodar Valley Corporation in a 50:50 partnership. The company has also been awarded a Letter of Award for the construction of a battery energy storage project worth 750 MWh at a tariff of ₹3.14 lakh per MW per month with a project cost of ₹1,057.09 crore.
RailTel, Other Corporate Developments
RailTel Corporation of India has been awarded a Letter of Intent worth ₹444.44 crore by the Centre for E-Governance for the KSWAN 3.0 project in which the company will be the system integrator.
Among other developments, CMS Info Systems announced the acquisition of the ATM managed services business of Financial Software and Systems for ₹115 crore, expected to close in Q1 FY27.
GR Infraprojects has emerged as the lowest bidder for a ₹1,453.57 crore highway project from NHAI and also secured an order worth ₹413.37 crore from NTPC.
JSW Steel has completed the acquisition of Bhushan Power and Steel’s business, while ACME Solar Holdings has received a GST demand notice of ₹149.73 crore from the Directorate General of GST Intelligence.
These developments are likely to keep these stocks in focus in the context of overall weakness in the global and domestic markets.
