Earnings Announcements

Several companies are scheduled to announce quarterly results on April 20, including Groww (Billionbrains Garage Ventures), Bank of Maharashtra, PNB Housing Finance, SML Isuzu, Nelco, PNB Gilts, Ugro Capital, Indosolar, Indbank Merchant Banking Services, Jupiter Infomedia, and Navkar Corporation.

HDFC Bank reported a 9.1% increase in standalone net profit to ₹19,221 crore compared to ₹17,616.1 crore year-on-year. Net interest income rose 3.2% to ₹33,081.6 crore, while provisions declined 18.3% to ₹2,609.6 crore. Gross NPA stood at 1.15% and net NPA at 0.38%. The board recommended a final dividend of ₹13 per share.

ICICI Bank posted an 8.5% rise in net profit to ₹13,701.7 crore, with net interest income up 8.4% to ₹22,979 crore. Provisions dropped to ₹96.2 crore from ₹890.7 crore. Gross NPA was at 1.40% and net NPA at 0.33%.

Key Business Developments

EMS emerged as the lowest bidder for two projects from UP Jal Nigam (Urban), with estimated contract values of ₹143.79 crore and ₹64.8 crore.

H G Infra Engineering incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary to execute a ₹1,582.11 crore road project in Odisha awarded by the National Highways Authority of India.

Dredging Corporation of India signed a five-year agreement worth ₹2,157.07 crore with Indian Oil Corporation for fuel supply to its fleet.

Zee Entertainment Enterprises approved an investment of up to ₹116 crore in compulsorily convertible debentures of Phantom Digital Effects.

Regulatory Updates

Lupin’s manufacturing facility in Somerset, New Jersey, underwent inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration from April 13 to April 17, resulting in three observations under Form 483.

Cipla’s Goa facility was inspected by the U.S. FDA between April 6 and April 17, with two observations issued under Form 483.

Aurobindo Pharma received final approval from the U.S. FDA for Dextromethorphan Polistirex extended-release oral suspension, 30 mg/5 mL.

Corporate Actions And Other Updates

Lemon Tree Hotels signed a license agreement for a 90-room property in Gujarat, to be managed by its subsidiary Carnation Hotels.

Uno Minda approved the appointment of Vivek Shripad Joshi as CEO of its LPS domain effective April 19.

Trent will consider a bonus issue and fundraising proposal on April 22 alongside its financial results.

Bulk Deals And F&O Update

Lloyds Metals and Energy acquired 20 lakh shares in Bharat Wire Ropes, while Lloyds Enterprises purchased additional shares, taking a 5.31% stake valued at ₹74.11 crore.

HCP Investments sold a 5.53% stake in Ind-Swift Laboratories for ₹64.4 crore, according to exchange data.

SAIL and Sammaan Capital remain in the F&O ban list for the session. These developments are expected to keep the mentioned stocks in focus during trading on April 20.
