IT Stocks In Focus On Earnings And Corporate Actions

Tata Consultancy Services reported a consolidated net profit of ₹13,718 crore for Q4FY26, up 12.2% from ₹12,224 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 9.6% to ₹70,698 crore compared to ₹64,479 crore. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased 14.5% year-on-year to ₹17,870 crore, while EBIT margin expanded by 108 basis points to 25.27%.

Wipro said its board will consider a proposal for a share buyback at its meeting scheduled on April 16, alongside its Q4FY26 results. This would be its first buyback since June 2023, if approved.

Metal Stocks Track Operational Updates

JSW Steel reported a 3% year-on-year decline in consolidated crude steel production to 7.43 million tonnes in Q4FY26, compared to 7.63 million tonnes a year ago. Production from India operations declined 1% to 7.34 million tonnes.

Tata Steel acquired the remaining 0.01% stake in Tata Steel Colors from BlueScope Steel Asia Holdings for ₹0.03 crore, increasing its holding to 100% and making it a wholly owned subsidiary.

Financials And Exchange Stocks In Spotlight

HDFC Life Insurance said its board will consider a proposal to raise funds through a preferential issue of equity shares at its April 16 meeting.

BSE received approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India to launch derivatives contracts on its Focused IT Index, which tracks 14 companies from the information technology sector.
