Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd on Friday said it will increase prices of its passenger vehicles, including both conventional fuel-powered models and electric vehicles, by up to 1.5% with effect from July 1, 2026.

The company informed stock exchanges that the revision is intended to partly offset higher input costs and ongoing inflationary pressures impacting its operations. The increase will apply across its product portfolio, although the exact revision will differ depending on the model and variant.

Price Revision To Take Effect From July 1

In a regulatory filing, Tata Motors stated that it has been absorbing a substantial portion of the increase in operating costs. However, the company said a part of the burden will now be passed on through a calibrated adjustment in vehicle prices.

The automaker added that the extent of the increase will vary across different products within its passenger vehicle lineup. The portfolio includes hatchbacks, sedans, sport utility vehicles and electric vehicles sold under the Tata Motors brand. The company did not disclose model-wise revised prices.

Auto Industry Still Facing Cost Pressures

The latest statement comes as auto makers continue to grapple with high input costs and inflation-driven cost pressures. Vehicle makers have periodically revised prices over the past few years to manage increases in raw material, logistics and manufacturing costs affecting the performance of automobile sector stocks.

Tata Motors has maintained that the current revision is aimed at partially mitigating these pressures while continuing to preserve the value proposition of its offerings.

The company remains one of the country’s largest passenger vehicle manufacturers and also holds a significant presence in the electric vehicle segment.

Passenger Vehicle Portfolio Included

The price increase will cover both internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and electric vehicles sold by Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. Customers planning purchases before July 1 will continue to be billed at prevailing prices, subject to applicable dealer and booking terms.

With the latest revision, Tata Motors joins a growing list of automobile manufacturers that have adjusted vehicle prices to address rising costs. The company said the changes are part of its efforts to balance input cost pressures while maintaining operational sustainability across its passenger vehicle business.
