Coal India, Tata Power Lead Key Earnings Announcements
Coal India reported a marginal improvement in consolidated net profit for the June quarter. According to the company’s exchange filing, profit increased 0.6% year-on-year to ₹8,852.1 crore from ₹8,797 crore. Revenue climbed 7.8% to ₹46,254.8 crore compared with ₹42,919.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The Coal India share price is likely to remain in focus following the results.
Tata Power Company posted an 11% rise in consolidated net profit to ₹1,401 crore for the quarter, against ₹1,262.3 crore a year earlier. Revenue increased 5.6% to ₹19,051.3 crore from ₹18,035 crore. The Tata Power share price will also be watched after the earnings announcement.
Technology and Defence Companies Post Higher Earnings
Happiest Minds Technologies reported consolidated profit of ₹67.6 crore for the June quarter, up 18.3% from ₹57.1 crore in the year-ago period. Revenue grew 14.3% to ₹628.5 crore from ₹550 crore.
Bharat Electronics registered an 8.7% increase in consolidated profit at ₹1,054.3 crore, compared with ₹969.9 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Revenue rose 25% to ₹5,547 crore from ₹4,439.7 crore. The Bharat Electronics share price may remain on investors’ radar following the quarterly update.
Tata Chemicals, Godfrey Phillips Report Weak Performance
Tata Chemicals reported a consolidated net loss of ₹17 crore for the June quarter, compared with a profit of ₹252 crore in the same period last year. However, revenue increased 14.4% year-on-year to ₹4,255 crore from ₹3,719 crore.
Godfrey Phillips India reported a weaker quarterly performance, with consolidated profit falling 44.3% to ₹198.4 crore from ₹356.3 crore. Revenue declined 18.9% to ₹1,205.5 crore against ₹1,486.2 crore a year earlier.
Other Companies Deliver Strong Growth
Wheels India reported a 28.2% rise in consolidated profit to ₹38.3 crore, while revenue increased 17.8% to ₹1,491 crore.
Northern Arc Capital posted a 17.6% increase in standalone profit to ₹121.8 crore. Net interest income rose 44.2% to ₹496.1 crore from ₹344.1 crore. Usha Martin reported a 40.7% increase in consolidated profit to ₹142 crore, with revenue rising 16.4% to ₹1,033 crore.
CCL Products India witnessed a 61.3% increase in its consolidated profit to ₹116.9 crore, and there was an increase in its revenues by 13.7% to ₹1,200.4 crore.
Gravita India too showed good numbers as far as profitability and growth in revenues is concerned; its consolidated profit increased by 14.1% to ₹106.4 crore, and its revenue increased by 41.8% to ₹1,475.1 crore.
