Adani Power Q2 FY27 profit rises 134% to ₹6,919 crore

Adani Power reported consolidated net profit of ₹6,919 crore for Q2 FY27, compared with ₹2,953 crore in the year-ago quarter, according to the company. The result came as the company continued work on its thermal-capacity expansion programme and reported project commissioning timelines.

Adani Power reports ₹8,231 crore EBITDA and ₹19,439 crore revenue

EBITDA stood at ₹8,231 crore in Q2 FY27, compared with ₹5,150 crore in the same quarter a year earlier, Adani Power said.

Revenue from operations was ₹19,439 crore, against ₹13,457 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, according to the company.

The company attributed the increase in consolidated power sales volume to strong growth in power demand.

Adani Power advances 23,720 MW of thermal capacity

The expansion programme includes the 1,320 MW Korba Phase-II Supercritical Thermal Power Project and the 1,600 MW Mahan Phase-II Ultra-Supercritical Thermal Power Project, both of which Adani Power said were in advanced stages of execution.

Korba Phase-II comprises two 660 MW units. The second unit was scheduled for commissioning in Q4 FY27, while Mahan Phase-II was due for full commissioning in the early part of FY28, the company said.

The 1,600 MW Raipur Phase-II and 1,600 MW Raigarh Phase-II projects had each achieved more than 65% progress in less than 30 months since work began. Adani Power scheduled both projects for commissioning in FY29.

India’s coal-based plants run at a 68% load factor in Q2 FY27

Adani Power’s Q2 FY27 disclosure said India’s power demand rose to 502 billion units during the quarter.

Coal- and lignite-based power accounted for 66% of total supply, compared with 65% in Q2 FY26, according to the company’s disclosure. Coal- and lignite-fired plants accounted for 73% of the incremental power generated during the quarter.

The aggregate plant load factor of India’s coal-based power plants rose from 62% in the year-ago quarter to 68% in Q2 FY27, Adani Power said.
