PVR, one of India's leading multiplex chains, has recently announced new pricing offers for food and beverages (F&B) in response to consumer concerns and feedback. This move aims to address the issue of expensive food options at cinemas, providing moviegoers with more affordable choices. In this blog, we will explore how consumer feedback, particularly on social media, prompted PVR to make changes and enhance the cinematic experience for its patrons.

Listening to Consumer Demands

With the advent of social media platforms, consumers now have a powerful voice to express their opinions and concerns. Many moviegoers took to social media to discuss the high prices of F&B items at cinemas, sparking a debate about affordability. PVR paid attention to these conversations and took them seriously, understanding the need to cater to audience expectations and create an unparalleled cinematic experience.

Addressing Concerns and Introducing Cost-Effective Deals

As a result of consumer feedback, PVR has introduced a revamped pricing strategy for F&B offerings. From Mondays to Thursdays between 9 AM and 6 PM, moviegoers will be able to enjoy a variety of food items, including hotdogs, burgers, popcorn, sandwiches, and beverages, starting at just ₹99. This move aims to make weekday movie experiences more affordable, particularly for smaller group sizes.

Additionally, on weekends, PVR will offer Bottomless Popcorn, allowing patrons to enjoy unlimited tub refills. Alongside this, attractively priced Family Meal Combos will be available, reducing F&B spends by up to 40 percent. These new cost-effective deals cater to larger groups, including families, who often choose weekends for their movie outings.

Aiming for Unparalleled Cinematic Experience

Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Executive Director of PVR INOX Ltd, emphasized the importance of resonating with patrons and providing them with an exceptional cinematic experience. By actively listening to consumers' thoughts on F&B pricing, PVR has curated these affordable options to meet moviegoers' needs and preferences. Bijli acknowledged that the merger that placed PVR among the top cinema chains globally has expanded their canvas, enabling them to cater to a wider segment of audiences and curate the best offerings.

Conclusion

PVR's response to consumer feedback regarding F&B pricing demonstrates their commitment to customer satisfaction and continuous improvement. By introducing cost-effective deals for both weekdays and weekends, PVR aims to make cinema outings more accessible and enjoyable for a wider range of moviegoers. This move showcases the power of consumer feedback and social media platforms in driving positive changes and enhancing the overall cinematic experience. As PVR listens and adapts to consumer demands, it sets an example for other multiplex chains to prioritize customer feedback and create value-driven offerings that resonate with their audience.
