The S&P BSE Realty index incorporates components of the S&P BSE 500 categorized as members of the real estate sector defined by the BSE industry classification system.

The S&P BSE Power index consists of S&P BSE 500 companies that fall under the BSE sector categorization system's definition of the substantial electrical appliances & energy suppliers sector.

A variant of the market cap technique called the free float capitalization technique is used to compute the Index. Float, or easily traded stocks, is used in place of a firm's outstanding shares.

According to the free float capitalization technique, the index level at any one time represents the free float market valuation of the 30 component shares linked to a benchmark. Free Floating Capital means total capitalization less Directors' Shareholding.

Today, investing in Realty stocks on the Bombay Stock Exchange can yield better returns. However, the amount of profit that you can earn depends on your skills, knowledge, research, and expertise

BSE Realty Scrip Selection Criteria

The following broad criteria should be followed while choosing SENSEX constituents:

● Listing Record: The stock must have a minimum of three months of BSE listing record. If the overall market value of a recently listed firm falls within the top ten on the list of BSE world, the standard minimum of three months is lowered to one month.

A minimal listing record isn't necessary if a firm is listed due to a merger, divestiture, or consolidation.

● Trading Frequency: During the previous three months, the scrip should've been exchanged on every market day. Extraordinary conditions, such as scrip suspension, may warrant an exception.

● Market Cap Weightage: The percentage of every stock's weighting in the S&P 500 index. Based on the free-float market cap during the previous three months, it must represent approximately 0.5% of the Index.

● Industry/Sector Depiction: When choosing a scrip, most often offer a true reflection of the BSE universe's listed enterprises.

● Track History: In the Index Committee's opinion, the business needs to have a respectable and solid reputation.
