Dhoot Transmission operates within the automotive electrical and electronics components industry, with wiring harnesses forming an important part of its business. The company supplies OEM customers across conventional internal-combustion-engine vehicles, electric vehicles and consumer durable applications.

Its positioning in electric mobility is an important part of its growth story. According to its IPO disclosures and contemporary reporting, Dhoot Transmission has a strong market position in wiring harnesses for electric two- and three-wheelers, giving the company exposure to India's ongoing transition towards EVs.

The company's expansion plans include new wiring harness manufacturing facilities in Haryana and Tamil Nadu, while a portion of the IPO proceeds will also be used to reduce debt at both the company and subsidiary levels.

Key strengths include its established relationships with automotive OEMs, strong position in two- and three-wheeler wiring harnesses, exposure to electric mobility, diversified electrical and electronics product portfolio and domestic and international manufacturing presence.

Investors should also consider risks associated with dependence on major automotive OEM customers, cyclicality in vehicle production, fluctuations in raw-material prices, technological changes associated with EVs and automotive electronics, competitive pricing pressure and execution risks related to capacity expansion.
