Key Takeaways

  • Kajaria Ceramics has rejected media reports linking it to a potential acquisition of Asian Granito India.
  • The company said it is not in discussions or negotiations and has no plans to acquire Asian Granito India.
  • Kajaria described the reports as speculative and said it remains focused on its existing strategic growth initiatives.

Kajaria Ceramics Limited has denied reports that it is considering an acquisition of Asian Granito India Limited, issuing a formal clarification to BSE and the National Stock Exchange on October 21, 2026.

The tile manufacturer said it is not engaged in discussions or negotiations and has no plans to acquire Asian Granito India. It added that there was no truth to the speculative reports.

Kajaria Rejects Acquisition Speculation

The disclosure followed recent media speculation about a possible transaction between the two ceramic-sector companies.

Kajaria's response is unambiguous. The company did not merely say that no agreement had been signed. It stated that it was not in discussions or negotiations for such an acquisition and had no plans to pursue it.

That distinction is important because reported corporate transactions can be at very different stages, ranging from preliminary talks to a signed agreement. Kajaria's exchange filing rules out even ongoing acquisition discussions as of the date of its clarification.

The filing contains no proposed consideration, transaction structure, acquisition timetable or other deal terms because the company has denied that such a transaction is being pursued.

Company Says Focus Remains on Existing Growth Plans

Kajaria Ceramics said it remains focused on its "core strategic growth initiatives", without providing additional details in the clarification.

Asian Granito India is itself a listed ceramic products company and operates in the same broad industry as Kajaria. Both companies are commonly grouped among listed Indian ceramic and tile manufacturers. Ifin Ltd

The October 21 clarification therefore becomes the company's formal position on the acquisition speculation. Unless Kajaria makes a subsequent disclosure indicating a change in circumstances, the current exchange filing states that no acquisition discussions, negotiations or plans involving Asian Granito India are underway.
