Indian shares were trading in the green led by the gains in FMCG and metal stocks 

On Friday, domestic equity benchmarks opened with enthusiasm with all Sensex stocks opening higher. Oil prices dropped in early trade on Friday after a slight rebound in the previous session.

At 12 pm, Sensex is up 161.33 points or 0.27% at 59,849.55. Nifty is up 51 points or 0.29 % at 17,849.80. Adani Ports, IndusInd Bank, SBI, HUL and UPL were the top Sensex gainers whereas L&T, SBI Life, BPCL, Bajaj Finserv and M&M were the top Sensex losers. 

On the sectoral front, all the sectors were trading positively, with the BSE FMCG and BSE Metal indices in the lead among the sectoral peers. Some of the top FMCG stocks comprised Future Consumer, Hatsun Agro Products and Radico Khaitan whereas the top metal stocks were Vedanta, Hindalco Industries and NMDC. 

In line with benchmark indices, the broader markets were trading higher with the BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices advancing 0.04% and 0.12%. Gujarat Gas was the top performing midcap stock, which zoomed beyond 5% during the first half of the trading session whereas Themis Medicare was the top performing small cap stocks, jumping 16.41%. Among the other stocks, the shares of Nazara Technologies soared around 12% in trade as Google allows a limited launch of daily fantasy sports and rummy apps on its Play store.
