Business Overview
Sunshine Pictures operates in India's media and entertainment industry, with its core activities spanning film, television and digital content production. Its business covers the process from content development and production to intellectual property creation, rights monetisation, marketing and distribution.
The company works both as a sole producer and through co-production arrangements with established studios. Its current pipeline includes two films being co-produced with Jio Studios and a web series for Doordarshan. This approach enables it to participate in larger content projects while sharing production responsibilities and risks.
Sunshine Pictures is also developing additional digital distribution and monetisation channels through Sunshine Music and Sunshine Digital (Originals), alongside its presence on social media and video platforms.
The company reported total income of ₹76.27 crore in FY26, compared with ₹105.80 crore in FY25. Despite the decline in total income, profit after tax increased approximately 16% to ₹40.02 crore in FY26, from ₹34.46 crore in the previous financial year.
Key strengths include its established experience in content production, portfolio across films and digital entertainment, relationships with studios and creative professionals, existing intellectual property portfolio and pipeline of upcoming film and web-series projects.
Investors should also consider risks associated with the unpredictable commercial performance of films and entertainment content, project concentration, dependence on audience preferences, significant working-capital requirements, reliance on key creative personnel, delays in content production and release schedules, and competition from established production houses and digital-content companies.
