After yesterday's sharp correction, value buying dominated the day. Barring IT and Realty, which continued to witness selling pressure, other sectors witnessed buying interest. RSI is rising and moving towards the 50 mark, indicating improving momentum. Near-term support levels are at 25,341/25,200, and resistance levels are at 25,798/25,940.

Strength in heavyweight banks such as KOTAKBANK (+0.90%), SBIN (+0.87%), AXISBANK (+0.82%), and ICICIBANK (+0.37%) further supported the banking pack’s upward move. Meanwhile, mild weakness in INDUSINDBK (-0.29%) and HDFCBANK (-0.27%) limited gains at higher levels. Market breadth remained strong with 12 advances against 2 declines.

The NIFTY BANK opened at 60,627.85, touched a low of 60,562.35, hit a high of 61,360.50, and closed at 61,172.00, up 432.45 points (0.71%). The index traded with a positive bias through the session, supported by continued buying interest that kept it firm. The steady upward movement reflected improving sentiment in the banking space. Strength in SBIN (+0.87%), BAJFINANCE (+0.78%), BAJAJFINSV (+0.58%), and SHRIRAMFIN (+0.46%) also helped sustain the positive momentum. On the downside, SBICARD (-2.02%), HDFCLIFE (-0.43%), CHOLAFIN (-0.30%), HDFCBANK (-0.27%), and BSE (-0.12%) restricted further upside. Market breadth stayed favourable with 13 advances, 6 declines, and 1 unchanged. Near-term support levels are at 27,991/27,847, and resistance levels are at 28,458/28,602.

The BSE SENSEX closed higher by 316.57 points (0.38%) at 82,814.71, supported by gains in power, infra, FMCG, and financial stocks. NTPC (+2.73%) led the gains, followed by LT (+2.37%), HINDUNILVR (+1.56%), BAJFINANCE (+1.47%), and POWERGRID (+1.44%), which supported the index. Additional weakness in M&M (-0.53%), HDFCBANK (-0.45%), and ADANIPORTS (-0.14%) capped the upside. Market breadth remained positive with 22 advances against 8 declines.
