Among the top volume generators on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the stocks that featured prominently on June 24 include Vodafone Idea, Roto Pumps and YES Bank.
The benchmark Nifty 50 opened lower but recovered during the session as easing geopolitical tensions and softer crude oil prices improved sentiment. Banking, financial and information technology stocks attracted buying, helping the index move higher.
Rajesh Palviya, Head of Research at Axis Direct, said a sustained move above 23,950 could support a recovery towards 24,100–24,150, while support is placed near 23,780. A break below that level could lead to further profit booking.
Vodafone Idea Tops Volume List
Vodafone Idea emerged as the most traded stock by volume on the NSE, with more than 20 crore shares changing hands. The stock remained volatile and extended its recent losing streak.
In a regulatory filing dated June 22, the telecom operator said its board had approved the allotment of 430 crore warrants to Suryaja Investments Pte. Ltd., an Aditya Birla Group entity and part of the promoter group. The warrants will be issued at ₹11 each, with 25% of the issue price amounting to ₹1,182.5 crore received upfront.
Roto Pumps Extends Rally
Roto Pumps saw trading volumes exceeding 6 crore shares, while the stock climbed nearly 12% during the session. The gain put the stock on course for its third straight day of advances.
The stock has delivered strong returns in June, rising about 38% after ending May with a decline of around 3%.
YES Bank Gains Ahead of Board Meeting
YES Bank also featured among the most traded counters, with over 5 crore shares changing hands. The stock rose around 2%, looking to end a three-session losing streak.
The lender has scheduled a board meeting on June 29 to consider various fundraising proposals. According to an exchange filing, the bank will evaluate options including the issuance of equity shares and debt securities.
Other Active Counters
Several other stocks recorded high trading volumes during the session. These included Patel Engineering, Pine Labs, Hindustan Construction Company, Ola Electric Mobility, GMR Airports, Indian Railway Finance Corporation, IFCI, Wipro, GTL Infrastructure, Meesho, Suzlon Energy, Cupid and Piramal Pharma.
Exchange-traded funds linked to gold and silver, along with Vedanta Iron and Steel and Vedanta Oil and Gas, also figured among the heavily traded securities.
Trading activity remained concentrated in select counters as investors focused on company-specific announcements and upcoming corporate actions.
