The broader market has remained volatile, keeping investor sentiment cautious. However, stock-specific opportunities continue to emerge as several companies display improving price action and long-term technical strength. One such stock is Indian Hotels Company (INDHOTEL), which has broken above a multi-year falling channel on the weekly chart. The breakout, supported by rising volume and strong momentum indicators, has brought the stock into focus for swing and positional traders.

Breakout Stock to Watch for Swing Trading: Indian Hotels Company (INDHOTEL)

Indian Hotels Company is a leading hospitality company with a presence across luxury, premium and business hotel segments. Its portfolio includes established brands such as Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta and Ginger, serving customers across domestic and international markets.

The company operates across multiple hospitality segments, including luxury hotels, upscale accommodation and budget-friendly stays. Its established brand portfolio and presence in the hospitality industry make it a prominent listed player in India's hotel sector.

Technical Setup: Stock Breaks Out of Multi-Year Falling Channel

From a technical perspective, Indian Hotels Company had been trading within a broad, downward-sloping channel after reaching a major high near Rs 890 in late 2024. The stock remained under pressure through much of 2025 and declined towards the Rs 580–600 zone in early 2026. It subsequently recovered and formed a stronger price structure, with the recent rally pushing the stock above the upper boundary of this long-term falling channel.

Hotel Stock Breaks Out of Multi-Year Falling Channel

The latest weekly candle shows the stock breaking above the channel resistance and its recent consolidation zone around Rs 750–760. The stock is currently trading at Rs 795.50, with a weekly high of Rs 795.65. Volume has increased to approximately 6.21 million shares, indicating stronger participation during the breakout. The move above the long-term trendline suggests a potential shift in the stock's broader trend.

The stock is also trading above its key weekly exponential moving averages. The 8-week EMA stands near Rs 751.92, the 20-week EMA around Rs 730.77, the 50-week EMA near Rs 713.62 and the 100-week EMA around Rs 691.63. This alignment supports the improving technical structure and indicates that the stock has gained strength across multiple timeframes.

Momentum Indicators Turn Positive

The momentum setup has strengthened following the breakout. The 14-period weekly RSI stands at 67.92, reflecting strong bullish momentum and approaching the overbought zone. Although the indicator has not crossed 70, its upward movement suggests that buying pressure has increased alongside the price breakout.

The stock is trading above all four key weekly EMAs, while the latest rise in volume adds further support to the bullish setup. The combination of a multi-year falling-channel breakout, improving momentum and a positive moving-average structure suggests that Indian Hotels Company could be entering a stronger phase of its long-term trend. However, follow-through buying and sustained trading above the breakout zone will be important for confirmation.

Trading Strategy and Key Levels

Considering the multi-year falling-channel breakout, sustaining above the Rs 750–760 zone would be important to keep the positive momentum intact. On the upside, the stock could move towards Rs 820–850, followed by the previous major resistance zone around Rs 870–900. These levels represent potential resistance areas rather than guaranteed price targets.
Traders can monitor the Rs 750 zone as an important support reference, while the Rs 730 level is another key area to watch. A sustained move above Rs 800, supported by continued buying interest, could strengthen the breakout structure. However, a decline below Rs 730 would require caution, as it could weaken the current bullish setup. Traders should align their stop loss with their entry price, risk appetite and trading timeframe.
