The broader market has remained volatile in recent sessions, but stock-specific opportunities continue to emerge as several companies show strong price action and improving technical structures. One such stock is Indian Hotels Company (INDHOTEL), which has witnessed a strong breakout on the daily chart, supported by higher volume and improving momentum.

Breakout Stock to Watch for Swing Trading: Indian Hotels Company (INDHOTEL)

Indian Hotels Company is a leading hospitality company in India and the owner of the Taj Hotels brand. Its business spans luxury, premium and mid-market hotels, resorts, restaurants and other hospitality-related services.

The stock has attracted buying interest after recovering from its April lows and rallying towards the Rs 750 zone in July. Following this upmove, the stock entered a consolidation phase, with price movements gradually narrowing between resistance near Rs 750 and rising support around Rs 725. The latest price action indicates that buyers have gained strength near the upper boundary of this range.

Technical Setup: Stock Breaks Out of Symmetrical Triangle Pattern

From a technical perspective, Indian Hotels has formed a symmetrical triangle pattern on the daily chart. The stock faced repeated resistance near the Rs 750–755 zone, while the formation of higher lows indicated that buying interest was emerging at progressively higher levels. The converging trendlines created a narrowing consolidation structure ahead of the breakout.

The stock has now broken above the upper trendline with a strong bullish candle and closed at Rs 772.10, gaining 4.13%. Volume surged to approximately 9.34 million shares, indicating increased participation during the breakout. The decisive move above the triangle resistance suggests a potential continuation of the bullish trend, provided the stock sustains above the breakout zone.

Momentum Indicators Turn Positive

The technical setup remains supportive across multiple time frames. Indian Hotels is trading above its key 20, 50, 100 and 200 EMAs, with the 20 EMA around Rs 735.08, 50 EMA near Rs 729.43, 100 EMA at Rs 725.14 and the 200 EMA around Rs 715.67. This alignment indicates that the broader trend remains positive.

The 14-period daily RSI stands at 66.45, reflecting strengthening bullish momentum while remaining below the conventional overbought threshold of 70. The combination of a price breakout, higher volume and a positive EMA alignment supports the bullish technical outlook. Sustaining above the breakout level will be important for the continuation of the move.

Trading Strategy and Key Levels

Considering the breakout from the symmetrical triangle formation, sustaining above the Rs 750–755 zone would keep the positive momentum intact. On the upside, the stock could move towards the Rs 790–800 range, followed by higher levels if buying interest continues and the breakout remains intact.

Traders can keep a stop loss around Rs 725 to manage downside risk. A sustained hold above Rs 750 would strengthen the breakout structure, while a move back below the Rs 725 zone could weaken the setup.

Technical note: The chart shows a breakout above the converging trendlines of a symmetrical triangle. The increase in volume supports the move, although follow-through buying in subsequent sessions would provide stronger confirmation.
