HFCL shares rose 5% to ₹255 on September 8, just below the stock's upper circuit of ₹255.05 on the BSE.

The stock has now gained nearly 16% in the last three sessions. It had also touched the 5% upper circuit in the previous two sessions.

HFCL's six-month gain has crossed 260%. The stock had touched a 52-week high of ₹257 on August 31, after falling to a 52-week low of ₹59.83 on January 23.

What is driving the HFCL share price?

HFCL operates across the defence, railways and telecom sectors, with its business focused on digital network solutions for high-speed and secure voice and data transmission.

The recent movement in the stock comes against the backdrop of new business wins, stronger financial numbers and the company's order book.

HFCL has also added sizeable orders to its business in recent months.

HFCL has picked up two sizeable orders in the past few months. One of them came on September 1, when the company signed a long-term agreement for the supply of optical fibre cables worth nearly ₹2,329 crore.

There was another large order in June. On June 17, Rail Vikas Nigam awarded HFCL a ₹2,666.09 crore contract for the BharatNet Phase-3 project in the Uttar Pradesh (West) telecom circle.

The company closed FY26 with total income of ₹5,014.52 crore. The figure was ₹4,122.28 crore in FY25.

HFCL's profit after tax was ₹329.44 crore during the year, compared with ₹173.26 crore in the previous year. EBITDA stood at ₹826.75 crore, up from ₹506.75 crore in FY25.

The margin on EBITDA was 16.70% in FY26. In FY25, it stood at 12.47%.

HFCL dividend record date

HFCL has set September 22 as the record date for its FY26 dividend.

The company's board has recommended a final dividend of 20%, or ₹0.20 per equity share with a face value of ₹1. The dividend remains subject to shareholder approval at the company's annual general meeting.

The AGM for FY26 is scheduled for September 29, 2026.

What are the key levels for HFCL shares?

After the sharp run-up, the stock is now trading close to its recent high. The technical levels highlighted in the report put ₹257 as an important level on the upside and ₹232 as a key support.

HFCL had moved from around ₹60 to ₹252 over roughly eight months, with the stock continuing to trade above its short- and long-term moving averages.

At the current levels, the technical setup also shows signs of caution. The recent rally has been accompanied by indications of weakening price momentum, making the ₹232 support level important to watch.

A move above ₹257 would put the stock back above its recent high and would indicate renewed strength. A break below ₹232, on the other hand, would weaken the current setup and could bring further selling pressure.

The stock's sharp rise over the past six months, along with the improvement in earnings, new orders and the upcoming dividend record date, has kept HFCL in focus. For investors tracking the stock after its steep run-up, the ₹232 and ₹257 levels remain important markers in the near term.
