Infosys Shares Recover After Touching Six-Year Low, End 1.2% Higher
Last Updated: 30th September 2026 - 12:00 pm
Infosys shares staged a sharp recovery on Tuesday after falling to their lowest level in six years during intraday trade, even as the broader IT pack remained under pressure.
The stock dropped to ₹980.40 on the NSE during the session before recovering to close at ₹1,015.40, up 1.2% for the day. From its intraday low, Infosys gained 3.57% by the close.
The recovery stood out on a difficult day for technology stocks. Infosys was the only constituent of the Nifty IT index to finish in positive territory, while the sectoral index ended 1.5% lower.
Other IT stocks continued to face selling pressure, with LTIMindtree and Mphasis falling as much as 4% during the session.
The decline in Infosys has come alongside concerns surrounding the IT sector and the changes being brought about by artificial intelligence. The company has been stepping up investments in AI, talent and platforms.
For the first quarter of FY27, Infosys reported a margin of 21.1%. At the same time, the increased spending on new technologies and capabilities remains an important part of the company’s current business direction.
Tuesday’s trading, however, was marked by a notable turnaround in the stock. After slipping below the ₹1,000 level during the day, Infosys recovered enough to finish higher even as most of its sectoral peers closed in the red.
