NIACL, IFCI Gain as NSE IPO Launch Buzz Lifts Investor Interest
Last Updated: 3rd September 2026 - 02:46 pm
This Month Shares of New India Assurance Company Ltd (NIACL) and IFCI remained in focus on September 3 amid market speculation that the National Stock Exchange's initial public offering could be launched this month.
Unconfirmed reports suggesting that subscriptions for the NSE IPO could begin this month led to gains in stocks linked to the exchange through direct or indirect shareholdings.
IFCI, a non-banking financial company in the public sector, is exposed to the NSE via its holdings in Stock Holding Corporation of India Limited (SHCIL). IFCI has a 52% stake in SHCIL which in turn has a 4.4% stake in the National Stock Exchange.
The stock had moved up in the pre-market session before moving lower and giving back a bit of its gains.
IFCI shares hit an intra-day high of Rs 101.66, marking a gain of 3.4% for the day. The gains, however, could not be sustained and the stock subsequently fell to a negative territory amid profit-booking.
NIACL stocks moved up in the session. NIACL shares rose to an intraday high of Rs 203.82 on the NSE, up 2.3%. Later, the stock gave up part of its gains and traded flat.
The gains followed unconfirmed reports that the NSE IPO could be launched this month.
The report cited unconfirmed indications that the issue could be introduced this month, leading to renewed interest in companies that hold direct or indirect stakes in the exchange.
At the time of the report, no official announcement regarding the IPO launch timeline had been cited, and the stock movements were linked to reports and market expectations surrounding the potential offering.
