Oracle Financial Services Share Price Falls 6.5% Today; What’s Behind the Plunge?
Last Updated: 21st September 2026 - 01:30 pm
Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS) shares fell more than 6.5% on the NSE on Monday, September 21, after a report said loans linked to an Oracle-leased data centre project in New Mexico had come under pressure.
The stock opened at ₹11,787, below its previous close of ₹11,896 on Friday, and slipped to an intraday low of ₹11,061.
The fall came against the backdrop of concerns surrounding debt tied to Oracle’s artificial intelligence infrastructure expansion.
Oracle-linked data centre loans come under pressure
According to the Financial Times report cited by Mint, around $18 billion of loans connected to an Oracle-leased data centre in New Mexico had come under pressure.
The loans were reportedly being quoted at 89–91 cents on the dollar by syndicate banks, including Santander and Jefferies.
The report linked the pressure to concerns around the 1,400-acre “Project Jupiter” campus in Doña Ana County. The site forms part of Oracle’s wider agreement with OpenAI to provide computing capacity for artificial intelligence.
Local opposition to the project has also emerged, with concerns centred on its possible effect on water supplies and air quality.
Debt distribution faces hurdles
Efforts to distribute the debt to a wider group of investors have stalled, according to the report cited by Mint.
Concerns over Oracle’s rising leverage and weakening credit profile have weighed on investor demand. As a result, banks were reportedly left carrying more Oracle-linked project debt on their balance sheets than originally expected.
Oracle’s corporate credit rating currently stands one notch above junk status after S&P downgraded the company in July.
The company has also increased spending as it expands its AI infrastructure operations, while its growing debt burden has drawn greater attention from investors.
OFSS shares fall to ₹11,061
The developments coincided with a sharp fall in Oracle Financial Services Software shares in Monday’s session.
OFSS opened at ₹11,787 per share on the NSE, compared with its previous close of ₹11,896. The stock subsequently fell to an intraday low of ₹11,061 on September 21, marking a decline of more than 6.5%.
Despite Monday’s fall, the stock had gained 5.50% over the preceding week.
Over the past month, however, OFSS shares were down 5.19%.
Stock up more than 44% in 2026
Oracle Financial Services Software has recorded gains over longer periods despite the latest decline.
The stock was up 44.60% on a year-to-date basis and had gained 23.26% over the previous year.
Over three years, OFSS shares had risen 161.28%, while the five-year return stood at 138.09%.
Monday’s decline came as attention turned to developments surrounding Oracle-linked infrastructure financing and the debt associated with its AI expansion.
