The Gift Nifty signal for Indian stock market on July 11 reflected the positive outlook due to the gains seen in Asian and American equities markets. Softer geopolitical concerns, stable crude oil price and encouraging economic data from major economies are expected to remain in focus as trading begins.

Gift Nifty Points To Positive Opening

Gift Nifty was trading near the 24,104 mark, about 105 points above the previous close of Nifty futures, signalling a firm start for domestic equities.

The positive indication follows gains in the previous session, when the Sensex advanced 238.22 points, or 0.31%, to close at 76,741.82. The Nifty 50 also finished higher, rising 80.75 points, or 0.34%, to settle at 23,962.80.

Market participants are expected to monitor global developments closely after recent volatility linked to geopolitical tensions eased.

Asian And U.S. Markets End Higher

Asian markets traded in positive territory on Friday, supported by buying in technology and semiconductor shares. Japan’s Nikkei 225 and South Korea’s Kospi recorded strong gains, while Hong Kong futures also indicated a higher opening.

Wall Street extended its upward move overnight. The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.27%, the S&P 500 climbed 0.81% and the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.30%, helped by strength in large technology companies. The improvement in overseas markets has lifted sentiment ahead of Friday’s domestic trading session.

Crude Oil Price, Gold Price And Economic Data In Focus

Global energy markets remained relatively stable after a volatile week. Brent crude oil price traded around $76.23 per barrel, while U.S. WTI crude oil price was near $71.91 per barrel as diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran continued despite recent military exchanges.

In the precious metals market, spot gold price held near $4,122 per ounce, while silver prices edged lower during Asian trading.

Fresh economic data also remained on investors’ radar. According to Reuters, initial U.S. jobless claims declined to 215,000 for the week ended July 4, below expectations of 218,000. In Japan, producer prices rose 7.1% year-on-year in June, exceeding market forecasts.

Global Developments To Guide Market Sentiment

Investor evaluation of the political climate along with commodity price action and foreign equity performance will persist to guide short-term market trends.

With Gift Nifty suggesting a positive start and global markets exhibiting strength, focus may be expected to stay on foreign inputs, crude oil price movement and general macroeconomic conditions throughout the course of trade.
