4. Older stressed assets may delay timely recoveries

Opportunities

1. Rising retail stress creates new acquisition opportunities

2. SME stressed assets offer further portfolio diversification

3. Data analytics can strengthen collection efficiency further

4. Collection services can create fee-based revenue streams

Threats

1. Limited stressed asset supply may constrain growth

2. Regulatory changes could reshape ARC industry dynamics

3. Delayed legal proceedings can slow asset resolutions

4. Competition for quality stressed assets may intensify

1. India’s first ARC with established operating track record

2. Diversified presence across corporate, SME, retail segments

3. Strong relationships with banks and financial institutions

4. Growing retail portfolio offers further expansion opportunities

India’s asset reconstruction sector plays a vital role in resolving stressed financial assets and strengthening lenders’ balance sheets. While corporate stressed asset availability has moderated, retail and SME segments are creating fresh opportunities. Retail loan acquisitions have expanded amid rising delinquencies, supporting portfolio diversification. Improved recovery rates and evolving resolution models could further strengthen the sector, although slower fresh acquisitions and regulatory changes may influence overall AUM growth.
