List of top 5 gainers and losers in the Midcap and Smallcap segment for the week from March 4 to 10 , 2022.
As sentiment improved over the landslide win of BJP in four out of five assembly elections, markets were in a recovery mode. After a weak start over worries of rising oil prices benchmark indices BSE Sensex closed 0.66% or 362 points up at 55464.39 while Nifty 50 gaining 97 points or 0.59% and closed at 16594.90.
The broader market also witnessed positive sentiment after the huge sell of with S&P BSE Mid Cap closed at 23206.18 up 0.17% or 40 points ending on a positive note for the week. The S&P BSE Small Cap similarly amid much volatility closed at 26898.29 up 0.65% or 174.2points.

The bull rally was led by HEG Ltd in the mid-cap segment. The shares of the company delivered a weekly return of 18.46% from the levels of Rs 1142.05 to Rs 1352.90.HEG is engaged in manufacturing Graphite Electrodes. Its manufacturing facility at Mandideep (Madhya Pradesh) is the world’s largest single-location facility with the capability of producing UHP and HP variants. HEG zoomed 12.80% on March 7, to emerge as the biggest gainer in the ‘A‘ Group. The stock last month logged its 52-week low of Rs 1030.75 on February 24 as the sector was under selling pressure amid market volatility.

The laggards of the midcap segment were led by JK Cement Ltd. The shares of the company fell 13.14% from Rs 2638.25 to Rs 2291.55. The cement manufacturer has announced during the weekend plans to foray into the paint business via a wholly-owned subsidiary. The company is looking to invest Rs 600 crore over the first five years and aims to clock revenues of Rs 850 crore during the same period. It has been under selling pressure in the last one month where it lost 30.51% and after the announcement, the stock has logged its 52 -week low on March 9 at 2135.30.

TAKE Solutions is a globally-recognized domain-leader in Life Sciences and Supply Chain Management., exhibited extreme volatility logging its fresh 52 week low on Monday at Rs 25.10 after which it rallied in consecutive three sessions gaining 20% on Wednesday and another 17.57 yesterday’s trading session to close at Rs 39.15.
