Penny Stock Update: These shares gained almost up to 5% on Friday

While the NIFTY is up 2.89 percent, the Nifty Media Index is up 4.47 percent.

The barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, rose 1,534.16 points or 2.91 percent to 54,326.39, according to provisional closing data. At 16,266.15, the Nifty 50 index rose 456.75 points, or 2.89 percent. The S&P BSE Mid-Cap index increased 1.98 percent, while the S&P BSE Small-Cap index increased 2.13 percent. Sellers were outnumbered by buyers. The BSE saw 2,525 equities rise and 828 fall. There were 113 shares that remained unchanged. RIL is now trading at Rs 2622.15, up 5.77 percent. HDFC Bank increased by 2.60 percent, while HDFC increased by 3.13 percent.

Nifty Media index closed up 4.47% at 2018.15 today. The index is down 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Sun TV Network Ltd gained 8.40%, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd added 6.74% and Inox Leisure Ltd jumped 6.33%. The Nifty Media index is up 22.00% over last one year compared to the 9.12% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index added 4.21% and Nifty Metal index gained 4.20% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 2.89% to close at 16266.15 while the SENSEX added 2.91% to close at 54326.39 today.
