Strengths
1. The company manufactures a diversified range of electrical wires and cables, serving agricultural, residential, industrial, power infrastructure and renewable energy applications.
2. Two manufacturing facilities in Mehsana provide production infrastructure for different cable categories, with a combined installed capacity of approximately 79,950 kilometres annually as of FY26.
3. In-house manufacturing processes, including wire drawing, insulation, extrusion and testing, support control over product specifications and manufacturing quality.
4. Revenue from operations increased from approximately ₹88.33 crore in FY24 to ₹210.47 crore in FY26, accompanied by higher EBITDA and PAT.
5. Product certifications and established manufacturing capabilities support participation in institutional procurement and approved-vendor supply arrangements.
Weaknesses
1. Manufacturing operations are geographically concentrated in Mehsana, Gujarat, exposing the company to disruptions affecting the region or its facilities.
2. The business requires substantial working capital to finance raw materials, inventory, customer credit and manufacturing operations.
3. Total borrowings increased from approximately ₹32.81 crore in FY24 to ₹79.88 crore in FY26, increasing financing obligations.
4. Copper, aluminium and other materials are important production inputs, making procurement costs sensitive to fluctuations in commodity prices.
5. The company depends on manufacturing equipment, skilled personnel and uninterrupted production processes to fulfil orders and maintain quality standards.
Opportunities
1. Expansion of India's electricity distribution and transmission infrastructure can support demand for power and control cables.
2. Growth in solar power installations creates additional opportunities for photovoltaic cables and associated electrical products.
3. The proposed investment in additional manufacturing capacity can support higher production volumes across existing product categories.
4. Planned machinery for paper-insulated copper and aluminium conductors could enable Johnsoncab to enter additional specialised conductor applications.
5. Investment in rooftop solar generation may help the company meet part of its manufacturing electricity requirements internally.
Threats
1. Competition from established national cable manufacturers and regional suppliers may exert pressure on pricing and margins.
2. Volatility in copper, aluminium, polymers and other raw-material prices could affect manufacturing costs and profitability.
3. Changes in quality standards, certification requirements and procurement specifications could require additional compliance expenditure.
4. Delays in infrastructure, construction or renewable energy projects may affect customers' procurement schedules.
5. Manufacturing interruptions, power shortages, equipment failures or supply-chain disruptions could affect delivery commitments.
1. Expanding operating scale: Revenue from operations increased from approximately ₹88.33 crore in FY24 to ₹210.47 crore in FY26, reflecting growth in the company's manufacturing business.
2. Improving profitability: EBITDA increased to ₹24.06 crore in FY26, while PAT reached ₹13.42 crore, accompanied by improved operating margins.
3. Diversified end-use applications: The company's products serve residential, agricultural, industrial, infrastructure and solar applications, providing exposure to several electrical equipment markets.
4. Planned capacity expansion: IPO proceeds are proposed to finance additional factory infrastructure and manufacturing machinery, including equipment for specialised insulated conductors.
5. Working capital and operational investment: Approximately ₹14.00 crore is earmarked for additional working capital, while proposed rooftop solar investment may support the company's manufacturing energy requirements.
India's electrical wires and cables industry serves several sectors, including construction, industrial manufacturing, electricity transmission and distribution, renewable energy and agricultural infrastructure. Demand is linked to the development of electrical networks, new buildings, industrial facilities and equipment requiring reliable power connections.
Expansion in electricity distribution infrastructure and growing adoption of solar power are relevant demand drivers for low-voltage power cables, control cables and photovoltaic cables. Industrial automation and manufacturing expansion also require specialised cables for machinery, control systems and electrical installations.
Johnsoncab Electricals participates in this market through a product portfolio covering residential wiring, submersible pump cables, industrial cables, low-voltage power cables and solar applications. Its existing manufacturing facilities in Gujarat provide a production base for these categories.
The company's proposed IPO-funded expansion includes additional factory infrastructure, machinery for increasing production capacity and equipment for paper-insulated copper and aluminium conductors. These investments could broaden its manufacturing capabilities and product range.
However, the company's ability to benefit from industry demand will depend on capacity utilisation, order execution, raw-material procurement, working-capital management and competition from other cable manufacturers.
