Ester Industries Says It Is Unaware of Reason Behind Increase in Share Trading Volume
Last Updated: 1st October 2026 - 03:32 pm
Ester Industries Limited has said it is unaware of what caused the recent increase in trading volumes in its shares, responding to a clarification sought by the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
In a filing dated October 1, the company said it does not know the reason behind the significant rise in volumes seen across the stock exchanges in the recent past. It also said it is not withholding any information that could have an impact on the price or trading volume of its shares.
The clarification follows a letter sent by the NSE’s Surveillance Department on September 30.
Firm States that Disclosures are being Made
Responding to the question raised, Ester Industries mentioned that the firm is still in compliance with the disclosure requirements prescribed under the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
The firm mentioned that it will continue to keep the stock exchanges updated about any information that needs to be disclosed whenever such an occurrence takes place.
There has been no mention of any event related to the company that has led to the increased trading activity.
The response has been provided by the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Ester Industries, Poornima Gupta.
Why NSE Sought Clarification
In some situations, the NSE wants clarifications from listed firms when there has been a dramatic change in the trading price or volume of a security in the absence of any corporate announcements. This is to ensure that there is all necessary information for investors.
In the case of Ester Industries, the NSE had written to the firm following an observed dramatic rise in trading volume.
So far, Ester Industries has maintained that there has been no information on why the volumes are higher and that no information which can affect the volume and price of the shares has been withheld.
