Glass Wall Systems Hits 20% Upper Circuit, Rises About 38% in Two Sessions Since Listing

Glass Wall Systems India shares extended their post-listing gains on Thursday, September 17, hitting the 20% upper circuit on their second day of trading. 

The stock was locked at ₹257.82 on the NSE, the maximum permitted gain for the session. With Thursday’s move, the shares have risen around 38% across the first two trading sessions since the company made its stock market debut. 

The rally followed a strong first session on Wednesday, when the stock closed more than 18% above its IPO issue price of ₹182. 

Shares build on listing-day gains 

Glass Wall Systems made its BSE debut at ₹190.10, representing a 4.45% premium to the issue price. The stock climbed as much as 25.32% during the session to ₹228.10 before closing at ₹215.35, or 18.32% above the IPO price. 

On the NSE, the shares opened at ₹194, a premium of 6.59%. They finished the debut session at ₹214.85, about 18% higher than the issue price. 

The momentum continued into Thursday, when the stock reached the 20% upper circuit at ₹257.82. 

At that price, the company’s market valuation stood at ₹2,267.15 crore, compared with ₹1,893.69 crore at the end of its first trading session. That translates into an increase of ₹373.46 crore. 

IPO subscribed 81.65 times 

Glass Wall Systems’ ₹428-crore initial public offering was subscribed 81.65 times. The company had set a price band of ₹172 to ₹182 per share for the issue. 

The company operates in the façade solutions and fenestration business. Its presence covers the domestic market as well as overseas markets including the US and Australia. 

After closing above its issue price on the first day, the stock’s move to the upper circuit in Thursday’s session took its cumulative gain since listing to around 38%.
