GPT Infraprojects Shares Jump 9% After ₹483.72 Crore RVNL Order

GPT Infraprojects shares climbed as much as 9% in Friday morning trade after the company secured a ₹483.72 crore order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited.
The stock opened at ₹119 on the BSE, compared with its previous close of ₹113.15, and went on to touch ₹123.35 during the session. The move extended Thursday’s 2% gain.
The new contract, disclosed after market hours on September 17, involves construction of a bridge over the Mahanadi river. GPT Infraprojects will build Bridge 544, an open-web steel girder structure, as part of the third and fourth railway lines being developed between Nergundi and Barang in the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway. The order has been awarded by RVNL, Bhubaneswar.
Another corporate development has been underway at GPT Infraprojects this week.
The company had informed the exchanges in May that its board approved the amalgamation of two wholly owned subsidiaries Alcon Builders and Engineers Private Limited and Jogbani Highway Private Limited with GPT Infraprojects.
The Kolkata Bench of the National Company Law Tribunal pronounced an order in the matter on September 15, which was uploaded on September 16.
Under the NCLT order, meetings of GPT Infraprojects’ equity shareholders as well as the secured and unsecured creditors of the relevant companies will be held to consider the merger proposal. These meetings are required to take place within 90 days of September 15. Their dates and timings will be decided by the appointed chairperson in consultation with the company.
Friday’s rise leaves GPT Infraprojects up 8% so far in 2026, while the Sensex has declined 12% over the same period. The stock has gained 6% this week and is on course to end a two-week run of losses.
GPT Infraprojects touched its 52-week high of ₹150 on June 23. Its 52-week low of ₹96 was recorded on January 30.
